David was on a trip with a good friend when the Side Hustle of this story came to life. His friend Tim, had recently returned from his honeymoon. He was excited about a personal discovery and just had to share it with David. The discovery was an intimate one: he had been using beard oil in his pubic region… and it was working wonders!
Now before you cringe, consider the benefits of beard oil on a man’s face:

- It soothes sensitive or dry skin
- It reduces the risk of ingrown hairs
- It makes the user smell nice
Could this be an opportunity? The fact that no one was talking about such a thing meant that there was effectively no competition. However, to be first in the marketplace, they would have little time to beat around the bush.
They began researching ingredients, nutrition and essential oils. They also wanted their product to be available for both men and women. When the recipe was ready to sell, it was time to figure out manufacturing. Each partner invested $250, which covered the bill for their Shopify store, packaging and 100 bottles of the precious oil.
Bush Balm officially launched.
By adding spas and retailers to their distribution model, their company: BushBalm now generates six figures.
